EYMM - Hoodie Blog Tour

Now for my next blog tour!!  I couldn't resist partaking in another one for Everything Your Mama Made (EYMM) when the opportunity arose!

This tour is featuring the Zander Hoodie and Hooded Vest sizes 0-3months to 18 and the His & Her Asymmetrical Hoodie and Hooded Vest sizes XS to 5XL.

So I decided that I would do one of each of the hooded vests, one for my grandson and one for myself.  I love the style of these hoodies with the zip going up on an angle just gives it a unique style.  The hoodie is made from fleece exterior and a stretch knit lining.

This is not like the "standard" EYMM designs in that it is for an intermediate level sewer, whereas most of hers are for beginners.  However with her well written instructions and pictures all the way make it easy to follow.

It is a very quick pattern to sew together and I made both of these in a few hours.

I made my grandson size 6-12 months, he is only 5 months but he is the height of a 7-8 month old.  This also gives him room to grow. As you can see he found it quite snuggly!

I really felt sporty in mine!! So I had a play on the playground! Hehe..

I highly recommend this pattern to any intermediate sewer!  You can purchase the Zander Hoodie and Hooded Vest now and pre-order the His & Her Asymmetrical Hoodie and Hooded Vest using the discount code "hoodiesrock" for 25% off until 23rd September 11.59pm!!!  Just a tip: there is also the Boy's Silhouettes Reverse Applique Pack available too which goes perfectly on the Zander!!

Mini Hats (Halloween Rose)

This is the first that I've made and it's up for sale but I'm also planning to make an outfit to go with it! I'm hoping to acquire a purchaser before I make the dress so I can make it to suit that person. I will be making more of these and you can even request a certain style (e.g. Halloween, roses. Put as mush detail as you like) so go crazy! Any questions? Ask them in the comments or email us at sewn.to.the.core@gmail.com!

EYMM Think Fall Blog Tour

Hi and welcome to my first blog!! I am participating in the Everything Your Mama Made (EYMM) Think Fall Blog Tour, featuring the Off the Shoulder Top & Tunic. Use the coupon code "falliscoming" for a 25% discount on all sizes and bundle (linked at bottom).

I jumped at the opportunity to be a part of this tour because a few weeks ago I made my first EYMM top – the Kymy’s Dolman Top & Tunic and found it to be extremely easy to follow the instructions and the pictures were fantastic, making it a great beginner’s pattern!  And to top it off, without sounding conceited it looked gorgeous on me.  I had already purchased the Off the Shoulder Top & Tunic, so this was the perfect time to make it.

So, I crossed 3 sizes (yay me!!), but as the Large fit for the middle ground for me, therefore I decided do it.  I picked 2 stretch knit fabrics for mine, as I like something a bit of difference at the moment, and I also wanted to quirk it up a little.

Now, there were a couple of adjustments I had to make because I am a smaller size and a bit of a short-ass (5’5”), I took about ½” out of the arms due to the skinny arms I have and I made it top size (which fits me like a tunic size).

As you can see, I wanted to tie the cowl in with the rest of the top, so I took 5” off the top and then added 10” (folded in half = 5”) of the cowl fabric to the bottom and wham-bam I had the same size, just with a strip of the cream/brown fabric for both the bottom and the cowl.

I live in the tropics and this top is perfect for when the weather is cooler than normal, but not cold enough for a jumper.

I highly recommend EYMM patterns as they give a professional look for an affordable price, they are so great to follow with wonderful instructions and pictures!

This pattern is available in girlssizes NB to 18 and women’sXS to 5X or if you want to make matching mum and daughter tops or tunics you can purchase it cheaper in the bundle.

Thanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed and I can’t wait to put up some more reviews in the near future!

Happy Sewing All!!!
